Updated: Saturday 27th June
Romsey Baptist Church seeks to act responsibly regarding the current situation and will aim to follow the government’s advice. In light of the recent advice:
All Sunday services and other church events/organisations are cancelled until further notice.
Currently we are not taking bookings for the use of our premises by other users.
The government has recently announced a limited lifting of restrictions on places of worship; we are awaiting the government's detailed guidance.
On Sundays we continue to meet at 10am for fellowship via Zoom and then holding virtual services which are available on our website's home page until the following Sunday. We also use Zoom for communion services. Audio recordings of most Sunday morning sermons are available on our sermons page. Many groups within the church are continuing to meet via Zoom.
As a church we are helping RCS provide breakfast food for 120 of the most needy children across the Romsey area who would normally be getting free meals at school. We are collecting, at the manse, boxes of cereal or some sort of bread product (like pre-wrapped chocolate brioche buns or pain au chocolat) which we pass to RCS for distribution.
We will, of course, continue to pray for guidance for the government and to pray for those affected by the virus, both directly and indirectly.
The church's response to the virus is under constant review and updates will be posted here.
Jonathan's audio messages for the church, recorded in March and April, are available here
Romsey Baptist Church (RBC) is a family friendly church with a strong youth focus but also having a wide age demographic. The preaching is Bible based and our worship style is largely contemporary. We see our purpose as worshipping God the Father, Son and Spirit; spreading the word of Jesus at home and further afield; growing our faith through discipleship and building a loving community through fellowship.
